MPCI is a federally subsidized insurance that covers crop losses, including lower yields, caused by natural events, such as destructive weather (hail, frost, damaging wind), disease, drought, fire, flooding, and insect damage.

Annual Forage (AF)
The Risk Management Agency’s (RMA) Annual Forage
insurance program provides coverage on your annually
planted forage or grazing crops. This program is designed to
protect against a single peril: lack of precipitation.
The AF program utilizes a rainfall index to determine
precipitation for coverage purposes and does not measure
production or loss of products themselves.

Pasture, Rangeland & Forage (PFR)
Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF)
The PRF insurance program is designed to provide coverage on your pasture, rangeland, or forage acres. The program is designed to give you the ability to cover replacement feed costs when a loss of forage for grazing or harvested for hay is experienced due to lack of precipitation. The PRF policy is an area-based insurance plan that covers perennial pasture, rangeland, or forage used to feed livestock. It provides producers a risk management tool to cover the precipitation needed to produce forage for their operation.
